I just got my MotoTrax MX129 kit and would like some tips from those with experience. The bike is a 2006 KTM 450 SMR. I put a ThermoBob TB4 thermostat on it. Trying to decide what to do for an air filter. I currently have a TwinAir foam filter oiled with No Toil in the stock airbox. Should I use a prefilter? If so, which one? Should I buy a different filter and prefilter? Do you guys think I need a carb heater or engine jacket? I do have the quick release Acerbis skid plate already and a TrailTech flywheel and stator. Thanks for the help!

So because of mototrax has a snow deflector to keep spray off the engine you might get away with no carb heat on the 4 banger...As far as the air filter.... I would go with a pod if possible.... The regular filters are a pain in the arse in the powder.... If that is not an option then i would rig up the cage with just a dry filter..... Foam is not needed.

I would pack some HEAT to throw in your fuel if you ever do get into icing. At least itll get you home faster. That is if you dont' go with a carb heater ( I don't think youd need one).

Your thermo Bob has a bypass hose. What I did with mine is put a longer hose on and wrapped my carb. It worked great last year.
