My skid plate has wings. What gives?

So I have a 2016 AXYS and I just bought a new 2018 AXYS. You can see on my red 2016 that the skid plate hugs tight to the contour of the sled. On the new black one though, you can see that it has these little "wings" on the front where the shape of the skidplate doesn't seem to match up to the shape of the belly pan. I don't like it. The dealer I bought it from sold me the skid plate and the install, so if I need to hold him responsible to fix something I will. Wrong skid plate? bad install? Let me know what you think.

Mine is the exact same as yours. Came off a doo so didnt know what it should have fit like. Sure dont like those wings. I was thinking of taking the skidolate back off and using a heat gun to fold them in to make it fit snug. The screws supplied to install the skidplate are junk anyways, im going to use stainless steel rivers.

Heat gun is the only fix. They all seam to have a little. Some more than others.

The skid plate was probably flattened out during shipping/storage and the wings just bent down. A little time with a heat gun should get you fixed up. You may need to remove it so that you can over-bend them so they stay.
