Captain Logan Veath

This is one of my ROTC instructors! He is the most bada$$ person I've ever met. Airborne Ranger, senior captain of the infantry....his list goes on. I just thought I'd share this video of him in Iraq. I randomly googled his name after he taught my first class a few weeks ago and found this video. He says there's one on CBS too, but I haven't found it yet.

I have actually seen that one before. I wonder if the Iraqi "army" would have even done anything had the camera's not been there? It is good to know we have that caliber of individual representing the United States in Iraq. I am by no means an expert, but I have the sneaking suspicion as soon as we leave that whole place is going to hell in a handbasket again. Thanks for posting.

Yeah and I suppose God took on the Japanese after Pearl Harbor and God invaded the beaches at Normandy and oh by the way you are very good at what you do.

Thanks guys. Cptn Veath is a great person, he also happens to by my Statics tutor....seriously, this guy knows his stuff.

I'm not interested in going into the infantry, but if I was, he'd take me under his wing, that's for sure.

Nice luvtoride! It is always great to have confidence in your C.O. Was he prior enlisted? They are the best officers IMO. Sorry douche bag J-fag hijacked your thread....blow it off. He is 60's hippy type...never appreciate where his freedoms come from...yes originally from God, but protected by so many good men and women!

He enlisted before the first gulf war, fought in it, then he re-enlisted for deployment for Operation Iraqi Freedom which is where that video comes in. He fought I believe for a total of 8 years overseas, then decided he wanted a break. Lt. Col. Hansen from the school of mines out here went after him and Cpt. Veath decided he wanted to teach for a while, so we have him for 3 years guaranteed and then he can decide what he wants to do.

At the last Field Training eXercise (FTX) he helped the cadets set up an ambush on the ranking officers. It was a blast. We set up a security team, support team, and an assault team. We went in *** backwards (not swearing, that's actually what its called), we shot, advanced through, swept them, demo team set up fake explosives, advanced to the rear, "blew them up". That was so fun!

Actually, the *** backwards set up was meant for the raid we originally planned ,but the other cadets and senior officers moved out for an exercise and we caught them on the road we were going to advance on anyways. So we really didn't do the ambush correctly, but they were impressed.
