My last words on the Mafia..

This was going to be my post in Jacob’s “The Mafia is Dead or Dying’ thread but when I went to post it the whole Mafia thread was gone.. and a few minutes later the social group too..

I still think what I had to say was valid:

The original Mafia may have been breaking up due to injuries, ill feelings, etc but it was never so exclusive that you had have known Animal or kissed Doug's A$$ to get in. You didn't even need to know a dirtly little secret about Kev or Kin...

More then anything it's the changes to this Dammmn Forum eliminating the original private thread (two versions of the forum ago), change of names, loss of contact that's done it in..

Change it to the U Crew, update it in any way.. call us the Old Guard or Old Guys.. whatever.. but a place we can keep in touch with each other, make a few party and riding plans is needed.

Maybe if we can take the U Crew threads private again we can, again, post a contact list.. real names, real phone numbers, real addresses... The reason we did it private the first time was so we didn't give all of that to the WHOLE WIDE WORLD (WWW.)


So, if you want to be part of the future of riders that help and respect each other, even like each other enough to socialize once in a while when not riding, contact BossRev and ask to be put into the new social group.. I don't know, but I don't think you have to kiss his A$$ either..

I personally want a place that Terry, Kim, Doug, Geoff, Jed, Jacob, Ron, Jeanette, Dave (neighbor), Dave (Ruby), Kev, Kim, Larry, Stephen (did you know that was Fab’s name), Dan D, Dan G, Jared, Scott, Wade, Chris, Nate P, Blake, Dustin (where did he go after selling the shop?), Dave (Freak), Nate W, Spencer, Pete, Nick, Rich M, Eric Y, Andy, Scott R, Monte, and others can contact each other, ask who’s riding, without all the trash of the public thread.

So, everyone, join here.. Let’s take this private, open it up to basic members. Maybe even get the boys over in Sallys World to join and stop by once in a while.

Jacob; I still have a copy of the Dec 2007 Mafia contact list; it wasn’t complete, but it was pretty good.

Thanks Chief, again I want to emphasize that OG stands for Original Gangster.
It in no way shape or form was a term of disrespect. It does not imply any one is old or not needed or welcomed. It is a term of respect, as in saying you who led the charge in the early days of the forum.

You are right about one thing, times have changes. Especially around these parts. I didn't want to see the Mafia name go down in flames and only decided to give it up so that maybe Kim, Rock, or yourself could pick it back up and start fresh. And preserve the names, the fellowships, and the memories on your terms.

I do however intend to do just what you stated as to why you had that thread. Hopefully this will be a place that we can come together, share our experiences ,plan rides and events, chat, shoot the chit and more importantly make fun of other unsuspecting forum members in private..

But ultimately have a place that is truly Utah's own.
