Starting with 2006 M7 153 and from there I am looking for a diet and some more power... Hoping to get 40+ more horse and loose as much weight as resonably possible.

Any help that anyone can offer would be appreciated GREATLY

If you want 40+ more horsepower, you need to start by adding 10 lbs and sticking a turbo in the exhaust...if you don't need that much more power, you can gain around 15 hp with a set of twin pipes and lose around 5 lbs, or go with a single pipe and can and gain around 7 hp and lose around 8-10 lbs. Other than that, a head, y pipe, reeds, I would start with pipe and can, then go to reeds and suspension. Ohh, and drill your track, rotating mass is the worst kind, take a hole saw to the center section and drop 3 holes into each section

I have the same sled as you so I'll tell you what I know.

Motor wise, for around 40hp more than stock, I'd do an 800 or a 900 big bore kit. Talk to RKT, from what I've read his 800 works VERY well. Definately throw on one his heads, really wakes up the sled.

Chassis wise for losing weight. Probably a Timber Sled rear skid and front suspension. Boss seat, Timbersled air intake kit and gut all of the insulation off of the stock hood.

Hope this helps:)

Trading off

It would make sense but when you are hooked on a sled you are hooked. I’ve rented about any sled you can think of. I haven’t ridden any of the brand new ones yet but I have ridden all of the 2007.

I am just hooked on the M7 so I am going to keep it and mod it. I am sure everyone on here can understand what I am talking about. I know for a fact that everyone one on here has a memory of a sled that they wish they would have kept..... Well my M7 is that for me....

I have a 06 m7 153 and I really enjoy it also. Best thing I ever did was a racin station m8 kit. TOTALLY different sled. Stock power was OK. alright in the mid range and good top end.
Now with the 800 kit it has alot of power every where. Can't even compare bottom and mid.
If I was going to keep it for a couple more years I would definatly get a 156x2.5 challenger extreme.

I wouldnt do Boondocker NOS, id do a wet shot and get CR racing reed spacers and throw a wet shot of 50HP in there, so you get the actual 50 shot.

Funny, guys who slap a Boondocker kit on actually think they are getting a 40HP shot as it filters through the airbox and carbs :D and gives you 200RPM gain.

get an LE skid and put floats on the front, Fastlane A-arms, Head, and a single with can, and a WET shot of Nitrous

1100cat on here sells wet nitrous kits very reasonable, and he's a very intelligent guy on this stuff. my .02 :)

Also, Speedwerx does the same head as RKT and cheaper. But if you want the best results in your sled right now, clutching and gearing goes a looooong ways:cool:

Well, what badass said! Worky good with all the other things I've put on her. You've gotten some good suggestions so far so you should pick a route and get with it and get some riding in as your change things and can compare them one at a time. You'll be needing a fuel box though to ever get even near that 40 ponies your looking for. If you can get 40 real hp and loose over 30 lbs. you've got a bigger wallet than me!

Thanks

My wallet isnt that big and that is why i am asking. I dont want to jump into sumthing and end up being that guy that has to sell a half way done sled or finish it in 2 years. The M7 is an awsome sled the way it is i just want a little more out of it.

so why do you think boondockers is a [dry] shot they dump fuel with nitrous !also you have the control over the whole engine can take away or add fuel from idle to wfo ,and with new system adjust from 25 to 50 plus hp seems to work well on my 700 i can for sure tell when on the bottle. my 1 cent

Is your M7 blessed or something?

If you want that much power than buy an M1000. I can't see why you would be stuck on an M7 compared to just getting an M1000, as they are all identical sleds, just different engines.

I just rode a M-1000 for the first time yesterday. I have a M-7 162" now. It pulled so much harder but I can't justify trading my sled in for it. The M-7 has enough poop for me now.

EVERYONE thinks that, truth be told, M7 not only feels lighter, it handles better. I was going to do an m1000 but changed my mind

werd. I've been thinking about getting an M7 for several years now, just haven't ever done it. Would be a nice addition though.
