Correct me if I'm wrong but the Excusion is rated as a 3/4 ton....

Beats me! The guy at NB Chev was charging me the 1t. price for my x-service, I told him I thought it was a 3/4... He punched the vin into his computer thingee and said No, it's a 1 t. It rides like it!

It's on the Super Duty chassis.

Is it a 1 ton? Go count the leafs in the rear. LOL

Fordy...I had this window open a long time ago, but didn't click to post it...and you came along and posted the same thing. LOL

There is virtually no point whatsoever in calling trucks "1/2 ton, 3/4 ton and 1-ton" these days.

That moniker came about in the mid 50's or therabout when the first real generation of 'consumer pickups' came out from the big 3 ...

Originally it was meant to classify payload capacity.

Well, as you can see these days, "half-ton" trucks have payloads of ~3/4 of a ton, "3/4-ton" trucks have payloads of ~1.25 tons, and some "1-ton" trucks have payloads of over 2 tons ...

I think they need to just start calling these trucks "Small, Medium, and Large" or something hahaha ..

If the guy was "charging" you for something based on whether or not it was a 1-ton, or whatever, he was looking at the GVWR ... an Excursion is probably in the neighborhood of ~8,600 pounds .... perhaps in some states that classifies it as a "1-ton" ...

He's on my ignore list...until you quote him I can't see what he writes!!! Put that idiot on the ignore list!!!

Thanks for the suggestion Fordman. I'e never used the ignorelist in all my time here. Will be nice not to be reading along and run into that crap.
