My diesel statistics for 2007

I just got done going through my fuel stuff for 2007 so I am ready for taxes. Thought it was kinda interesting. This is what i figured out:

I drove 23,794 miles
Filled Up 88 times
Burned 1,514.9 Gallons of the green stuff
Spent $4727.83 on fuel
Year Avg of 15.7066 MPG
and a cost of $.198698 per mile for fuel

Actual mileage and mpg is slightly higher because my tires are 32.5 inches tall.

Has anyone else done something like this. Or am I a nerd?

June 16, 2007 (when I bought my new pickup) - December 31, 2007:

2007.5 Dodge Megacab Cummins 68RFE, 2500 4x4

Miles Driven: 8724
Filled: 25 times
Burned: 639.64 gallons
Spent: $2333.54 on diesel and oil changes (3 oil changes)
Avg Fuel Mileage to date: 13.766
Overhead computer average mileage to date: 15.028
Avg Cost/mile for fuel: $.23022 (<--- fuggin OUCH!)

Average miles driven/month: 1244
Highest month: Sept. 1459 (hunting season)

Best mileage to date: 17.466 on a 114 mile trip at ~60 mph.

One CEL in 8724 miles. Just had the G30 recall done and flashed to AW software and had the tranny flashed as well. We'll see what 2008 holds.


Oh, and despite the fuel consumption cost, you couldn't take this pickup away from me.

and on edit: I don't have to ask if I'm a nerd...engineer = nerd. But, my pickup will have a better resale value because of this too.

How in the he11 did you get 26 MPG?

I log it, but usually only look at short-term. If I start seeing MPG go down over the past 4-5 fillups and no reason why, i'll dig into it.... other than that I keep it just for records. All my maintenence goes in there, but how much $ I spend on gas doesn't... too depressing.

I still <3 my truck though.

How in the he11 did you get 26 MPG?

I don't know. Its the way it calculated out on a trip across the state using the two lanes instead of the interstate. My best guess is its a miscalculation or a recording error. It could have been as simple as going dislexic on the gallons number or anything else. Or it could have been a fluke and actually happened.
