where is a good place to get MX boots in southern Alberta? Whats a good boot that won't break the bank?

i wouldn't go cheap. They will last a long time.

go to the local shop for sizing and then search the net for deals.

love my A6 alpine starts, father-in-law loves his 8s. Other love the SiDi, hinged ankle is easy break in.

alpine star tech-8's if you can afford them, if not the tech-3's are the best boot for the money....Don't go cheaper than that or you will be paying more in doctor bills than you ever would pay in a boot.

Not sure if motosport.com ships to canada, but if so they are great to shop with. Quick to ship and great prices.

I would agree that boots are one piece of equipment I wouldnt skimp on. I bought a pair of the cheapest fly boots out there and I HATE them. I tried on a pair of higher end boots (dont remember which) and couldnt believe the difference. So in the long run its going to cost me way more buying the cheap ones because now I have to buy the good ones too.

I bought the high end fox's for myself since budget was getting tight. My boy has worn tech 8's for the past few years because of the level at which he rides I want him to have the best protection I can get for him. I'm just an old slow guy so I thought I would get by...They took FOREVER to break in...then the buckles started breaking. After having the good stuff in the house, I won't go cheap on mine again. Live and learn. I should have atleast gotten the the tech 3's. Alot of the kids here wear them and they seem to hold up well. The tech 8's are great, just cost aittle more. Hard to shell out the cash since the boy would out grow them before he wore them out. Never a foot or ankle injury though so money well spent in the end.

Sidi Sidi Sidi

Sidi Crossfire for sure. Hinged ankle is comfortable and protective and the buckles are super strong. I like the TA sole more than the SRS, and they are cheaper too. If you look at the boot shootouts from the moto magazines the Crossfires are always at the top with Tech 8's down the list a little ways. I can help you out with a set if you want, just pm me.

I hear the Fox F3's are good for the money.

I have been running the same pair of Astar Tech 3's for the last 2 years. I had low expectations, cosidering the $150 price tag, but i REALLY like them. They have probably 30 races on them now and are still in good shape... The buckles are cheap, but they are very comfortable and have great support. I will be buying another pair this spring. For the price I don't think you can beat them. I paid more for the Thor boots i used to have and they were total junk beside the Astars.

I am looking for boots to wear all day riding in the mountains......not really concerned with price......just comfort and protective

I can put my A6s on at 8am and wear them until 6pm. Only complaint is they are hot.

I think with any high end boot comfort will come with break in....the only difference is how long it takes.

SIDI Crossfires here ... the last pair of A-Star Tech 8's I owned were the most uncomfortable boot I've ever worn(they replaced a prior pair of Tech 8's that were phenomenal boots ). The SIDI's are the only boots I'd own now ... zero break-in time and comfortable as a riding boot gets!
