music while riding

If its just me and the wife i like to listen to my MP3 player. The only problem. You can get caught up in the moment. Other days i love to listen to the sweet sound of the engine. What kind of music? Rock and roll all the way.:D

I have to have my ipod, if I dont I sing, in my head, the last thing I heard on the radio all day long. This is bad when its not something good.

lot's of 70's and 80's rock and some more modern stuff like godsmack, audioslave, linkin park

Same here. I haven't had a chance to mess with my MP3 player much (just got it for Christmas) but I had a hard time with it because to hear it over the sled it had to be cranked way up, then when you stop it about blasts your ears out. Anyone have a good solution for this? I have a Sandisk Sansa if it makes any difference.

I've been there before! Haven't found the right ear phone/helmet combination yet to listen to my ipod.

I posed the same question a while back and was told to check this site out, they look like they would work pretty well and the person who referred me to the site said he has a few friends that have been happy with them, they even have a volume control that you can mount to the outside of your jacket... sweet!. if you decide to try them let me know how they work... I want to get a set when I'm done fixin my sled

Just ordered a set. We'll see how they work.

JVC marshmellow earphones...they cancel a lot of noise and put out pretty good quality sound.

I use KOSS the plug earplugs, cancles a lot of noise.

Listen to anything fast paced that makes your blood run faster and hotter

A lot of metal that is...

I love my ipod when motorcycling, but seem to be-doing too many different things on a sled to enjoy music.

Like to hear the motor
Ride hard, get hot take off helmet.
Get stuck, sweat. take off helmet.
Afrad to ruin the ipod in the harsh/wet/cold snow world.
Stop and decide where to go, turn down music
.......

On my bike, I am in motorcycle zen with good old rock n roll. Use cheap foam ear plugs, they cut road noise and work fine. Bought a watch that controls tracks and volume wirelessly so the ipod is stored away under the jacket and controls are on my handle bar pad where I put the watch.

I like to listen to my iPod on shuffle when riding too. All you iPod guys really need to check out our iPod Controller

The website says it works with all iPods except the Nano which is wrong. It does work with the Nano. It works with all dockable iPods which excludes the Shuffle. Our jackets are specially built to use this remote. TOBE jackets also have a custom pocket built for iPods and elastic loops sewn into the jacket to route your head phone cords.

With this set-up, you never have to take your iPod out of your pocket all day if you don't want to. You can pause/play, change songs and adjust volume with your helmet and gloves on. It really works well.

I know guys that have this controller mounted on jackets that are not made for it and they still love it. the cords aren't routed as cleanly with a TOBE jacket but it still works a helluva lot better than running your iPod by hand.

We will be releasing a very high quality helmet early this summer that has removable Skull Candy Speakers in it. carbon Fiber, ultra light, very nice. We will release specs and pictures in the coming weeks.

The remote connects to the bottom of the iPods though the dock port. We had briefly spoke of using a wireless device a long time ago but we decided that it would just be another battery to change/go dead making the controller less appealing.

Also the company that makes this controller is licensed by Apple to make iPod accessories and they use this same controller technology for some major brands like Levi's etc. You can be assured you are getting the best quality product for your money with this controller.

Having the control right on your sleeve is really good. I like it because I can easily find a good volume where I can enjoy the music and still hear my sled. You can't beat being able to instantly pause it either when someone is talking to you.

I know this probably sounds like I am preaching about our product, but it honestly has improved my overall riding experience. I used to always have whatever the last song played in the parking stuck in my head and be forced to sing it over and over in my head all day. Although that isn't a problem anymore, now I probably look/sound like a pretty big dumba$$ riding around screaming songs at the top of my lungs all day.
