What are people using to listen to music while riding? I am currently using skull candy helment speakers and a mp3 player. Problem is it is not loud enough.

Electronics can interfere with your beacon......

Do a search I know someone on here tested there beacon and ditched the i-pod, others say no problems.

I just recall Mike Duffy saying in his class that electronics can interfere with your beacon...your choice I guess, but I wouldn't. Hate to tell someones wife you brought them home in a bag because you wanted to hear Justin Bieber while sledding.

Yep. That is a proven fact. Ipods and other Mp3 players do interfere. Mobile phones don't.

And if you are listening to Bieber, you desreve to have your motor blow up. :spit:

electronic devices do create interference....just like your running sled would

I listen to tunes on some days...even with earbuds in and the music up....you can clearly hear and feel what the motor is doing.

IF you are making the statement that you do not listen to music so you can still hear the motor...I am guessing you have never listened while sledding before.

you can hear the whomp in the avalanch I use to listen to music when i skiied and I have been burried a couple of times it isn't fun and it is not worth the tunes I would listen to music if I was in no risk of an avalanch. your cell also causes a disturbance in the siganl that is why they say to have it turned off

Interesting.
My sled creates one heck of alot of EMI, way more then my MP3. Assuming that the sled is off in the event of an incident, I guess it wouldn't matter . . .
I have done beacon checks off an on during the day riding for a couple years now, music on, music off, no differance in the groups ability to find a transmiting beacon . . . .
But I'm no expert and am probably doing something wrong.

Boils down to those pesky personal choices again, I guess I'm lucky that as long as I'm not breaking the law, I don't have to worry about what anyone else thinks.
