MTX Weights

Just got my MTX weights for my 3 post primary and comes with 3 shims. How many do people normally put in?? i don't have the means of checking clearence where im at. is there factory ones already installed that i add to or remove and use the ones given?

Thanks

I have the same problem! I called SLP and they told me all primary clutches are different and some will take one shim other will take two some will take all they told me to shim to twenty thousands clearance. I know this isn't much help but I am in the same situation need to shim the Primary. I will let you know how many I use.

If you want a eye opener,
Go to the dealership get a half dozen belts and measure the width of each one.

I found a difference of 40 thousands. Kind of hard to shim with that range.

Just got my clutch back from SLP this morning.

Cant say enough about their service and turn around.
I shipped my clutch to them on monday morning, they got it on tuesday morning, Myron at SLP shimed the spider, and balanced the clutch, called me late tuesday afternoon ready to ship back to me. I had them ship second day Fed Ex. got it today and test rode this afternoon.

The MTX weights diffenetly makes a big difference.
just call SLP and let them know you want this done and they will sure take care of you. RickM

I just got my weights and spring in 2 days ago but I had a very hard time removing the stock weights , I pulled the set screws but couldnt get the bolts out that hold the weights, I wasnt going to beat on it any harder while on the sled and I didnt have the tools to remove it. I am curious to see how it goes with you guys, I just changed the spring and put it back together. I am debating on wether or not to send the weights back, after all the sled comes with 68 gram ad they sent me 68 gram but Im sure it matters how that 68 gram is placed. I just wanted to get rid of that bang upon engagement and get a smoother engagment , I want it to be able to crawl.
