Mtn Tamer shims

I've got a question for you "seasoned vet" Mountain Horse guys. You know, the guys with about 2-3 years of experience. :face-icon-small-win

I've read that I can lower the seat height of my Mtn Horse by about an inch by placing two 1/2" shims above the slide mechanism and tightening the limiter strap by one hole. I read somewhere on this forum that I can just move the two shims that are already installed below the slide mechanism and put them on top. Is this a good way to do it, or should I get another set of shims? Is there a good reason there are shims below the slide and should stay there?

Just remove the shims both thick and thin ,and just put the thin one on under the bolt and washer on top ,just look at the new kits and this will give a better description (They called it recalibrated in the 2013 kit ),you can also dink around with the spring load adjustment but not to much or the skid will act funny on the snow ,remove foam in the seat, can decrease the height with several small adjustment as stated .

What I ended up doing with my 2012 ST was swapping the shims... when I bought the kit used, it had a 1/4" shim on the upper part of the slides and a 1/2" on the bottom. I just took it all apart and switched them. That, along with pulling up the limiter strap by one hole, gave me what I was looking for.

I've also read some posts on here where guys have said you could use split nylon washers as shims to experiment with while you're out riding.
