Mt. Baker 1/14 Deep, and getting deeper!

So where was everyone today? We saw about 7 rigs with sleds. fresh snow all they way up from the 2nd parking area. Made first tracks to hood hill where it was socked in. Ended up riding our sweet tree spots buried in 18" of powder overnight. Dry deep snow but man was it ever stormy at times I'd just stop my sled and wait for the wind to let up as it just blasted so hard you couldn't see anything. Then it would let up and you could see for awhile till the next gust. lots of slides happening, be careful friends! Sparks

I was there yesterdy too with 3 of my good friends. Stayed in the meadows and had over the hood DRY POW all day. Its was only getting deeper. Headed to peanut once just to say we did but visability was dangerous.

I have a little gopro footage I havent watched yet. I'll try to post it.

I had to stop riding tho. Stupid XP air intake material ripped and I was sucking pow into my intake and bogging out. And that was on FLAT GROUND not carving. Yeah, it was headlight deep.
:D

What a killer day!! Snowing at home and all the way to Baker Lk Rd. Came around the corner at Grandy lake and it was blue fricking sky. BLUE SKY! We were probally second group in and did all we could to take it all in. Had a couple hours before peeps started to show up. Sled ran great until noonish. Then went to crap. Will put some gopro footage up soon. btw, it was deep and dry. And blue sky.....

Yeah, well, had plans to take a first timer up for 2 weeks. Saturday was the day.

To think, the plan was to go to Gold Creek. What a joke that would have been. :face-icon-small-con
