Mt. Adams

Has anyone made any trips up to Mt. Adams in the past few days? Considering going up sometime next week if theres decent snow.

Thanks

I was up there a week ago and it was good.
Some friends went yesterday and it was insane good!
Go up through Trout Lake to Snow King and you are good to go!

Thanks. Ive road Flat Top a few times. Was planning on giving Snow King a shot. Is there any good areas that way for climbing or boon docking? New to that area.

I was up at Snow King Tuesday, it was OK a good amount of powder not a very good base; stumps and rocks sticking out. I hit my back side on a rock got a pretty bruise. My sled is 151 track and I got stuck more than I would like. This was my first time at the park and did not go around too much mostly stayed on the trail and did not get to the open areas, it was still fun and would recommend the park to anyone. While we were there some people told us that they were going to close the main road leading from the park due to logging trucks, and there is another back trail that you would need to use. Conditions are good for opening of the season, I would be cautious if going off the trail.

84 east was shut down due to record ice. But the snow is still piling up and will be reachable during the break in the weather mid-week. It is going to be EPIC!

I recommend just showing up at the snowpark that you want to sled from, early in the morning, and look around for some people of comparable sled capability and skill levels, and ask to join them. I do this all the time and have never been turned down. And you get to meet new people each time you go out. This works on weekends only. Of course, if you are on the mountain at Pineside or Snowking, then you better have an 800 long track with at least 2" lugs, and cahones as big as basketballs.

LoL. I have cahones as big as basketballs according to you definition. Was up south climb a couple of weeks ago. I was honestly thinking of just going up and finding a group that would let me hang with them. Everyone I've ever come across up there have been cool dudes and chicks. I just thought I'd throw it out there if someone was reading here. It's about an hour and forty five minuet drive for me. If I get there and cant find a group to ride with I know I'll make a bad decision and ride by myself

USFS created a giant problem at Snow King sno park. There is no exit trails that are snowmobile legal, from Snow King. There is no signs giving permission to use the only trail, which is a X country ski trail, in order to get to the mountain. The main road has signs that close it to both vehicle and snowmobile traffic. Smith Butte is not accessible by vehicle. It is a mess and somebody in Trout Lake dropped the ball, big time.

Interesting that the USFS website makes no mention of this under the current conditions of snow king:
