Mt Adams ride 2/2/14

Rode with my family at Mt Adams today before the game. (GREAT JOB HAWKS:D :face-icon-small-hap :cheer2:).

About 4 feet of base, with 6-8 inches of fresh. Found stashes of snow everywhere in the berry fields. Here are a couple pics and a terrible quality video..

Was great... We unloaded at the makeshift turnaround a couple miles down from Big Tire. Had 6+inches of snow there, no bare spots and you could play on the side hills a bit, once you went up a mile or so.

OK, we're intrigued...how do my wife and I get to The Berry Fields?

We're long time Adams/Orr Creek riders but we're not familiar...other than hearing of it a couple times?

Thanks!

Not exactly sure how to get there from orr creek, never been on that side of the mtn. Looks like you go out 23 RD from takhalakh lake to the 8860 RD then over the 88 RD to surprise lakes/berry fields.

So you guys come in from a snopark to the south?

We could always drive further south on I-5 to explore some different territory.

Where do you guys off load at?

Usually we ride out of either flat top sno park or Atkinson sno park... Due to the low conditions, they have made a makeshift turn around up the road from the sno parks. We will be riding this sat and Sunday if you want to join up.

if you came further south you want to go to lone butte sno park

either up through cougar and past st helens,,,i live in la center and i go up through cougar and around swift res to get to lone butte,, its quickest for me....still about 1.5 hour drive...
or go down to carson wa, and up the wind river hwy

you can get to it from the orr creek park but its a lot of trail miles....

So if you are going past the 83 to Marble MT snowpark straight on usf 90 around the swift reservoir what rd are you turning off on to get to lone butte snow park?

Go to eagle cliff about 4-5 miles past e cliff by Curley cr take right and head up the hill a few miles then take a left and you will run into the snowpark.
