When I bought my Apex a year ago I bought it with an aux MSD fuel pump. Does anyone have install instructions/pics for this setup? What model pump are you guys running? Are you running it with the stock pump or removing/bypassing the stock pump?

I was told the other day by a very knowledgeable turbo mechanic that running the high volume pump in conjunction with the stock pump actually restricts the capacity of the high volume pump.

They are removing my stock fuel pump for this reason.

MSD pump

MSD pump #2225. Call Dave F. @ powderlites and get his stock pump delete kit. Removes the stock pump allowing the msd to work as intended. Wire the msd into the stock pump side of the plastic connector allowing you to remove it if needed. Dave's setup has the pickup lines needed, the plate for blocking off the stock pumps' spot in the gas tank, and the wiring to connect it. I can get you pics if you need, but its pretty straight forward.

Thanks guys, I'll give Dave a call.

Wes, have you upgraded to a 3" exhaust yet? If so how did you go about it?

3" exhaust

I used a tight radius 3" from a muffler shop. Got a local welding shop to form the 3" inlet up to my existing flange. You have to oblong it abunch to get all the bolts to fit. Die grinded the flange out so that it is a smooth transition to the 3" through the turbo flange. First attemp, it's not real pretty but should work. Exits out the side panel on an angle and I cut the end on an angle to help keep it from getting plugged when sidehilling on that side. Hopefully I don't squish it on anything. I have only ran it on the stand no seat time yet. I had fairly bad boost(2-3psi) spike so I am hoping this will help and maybe get me some more power&response. I am not sure if the open 3" is better than the divorced pipe setups. Anyone have more info on this? I have not closed up the tunnel hole yet, still thinking on that one...

Thought I'd bring this back to the top, maybe we need a new thread about the 3" exhaust thing vs the divorced down pipe. I've thought about ordering Dave's divorced pipe and redoing it to fit the BD setup and exit the side or belly panel. But it looks to me like his his kit mounts the turbo 180 degrees from the BD kit... hmmm smoke stack out of the hood? I could wear ear plugs...

Seriously though, any thoughts, ideas, info on this??
