New Viper (I think), doesn't like the water so much?:

"On the MSA Facebook page I issued a little warning about the wet conditions under the trails and put the picture up of the sled underwater just off the trail.

Just a quick heads up for sledders heading to the UP, this fall there was a lot of rain in all of the UP and Northern MI. The big snow fell on very wet swamps and the snow insulated the water from freezing. So with that in mind there is lot...s of standing water on many of the trails, be very cautious when attempting to go around these water holes. They will most likely stay open until we get about 10 days of below 20 temps and the groomers will have to push snow into the holes to get them to freeze!"

Been there, done that. Seen it many times in the UP early season. Lots of water cosssings this time of year. We pulled out 6 sleds in 2 hours at one water hole. Doesnt look like they even tried to get that one out. Eric

We came up on this sled and it was even farther under than the pic posted. We got it out for the guy but it took 6 of us. He was pretty happy to get it back. There was about 6' of water there and the ice was very weak. Ran into lots of places like this the 3 days we were there. Should have just pinned it and he would have been fine. It appears he panicked when he saw open water and stopped. Didn't work out real well!!!!

Nice job! You can always count on a fellow sledder to help out someone in need.
