Moving to Pemberton area

Just thinking of moving to the Pemberton area.I was wondering which part would be better to buy a home with out it costing an arm and a leg. Maybe some wear in the range of a 0$-150000$.Also i would be looking for a job.Right now I operate heavy equipment in the Alberta oilfield but would be open to other decent paying jobs.I guess the last thing would be new riding buddies.I like to boondock and jump.I have been riding for almost ten years and have my own truck and gear. Any thoughts or ideas will be very apreceated.:)

0-150000:confused: I dont know what you'll be getting for that price if the market has any reflection of realestate prices in Whistler or Vancouver:(

Yea I definently agree with you sled-fiend the homes there are very pricey.I guess I will have to keep buying my lottery tickets.There is a home in birken for $70000 not sure on the lot size but the house is only 256sq feet.:face-icon-small-disThanks for your reply though.

Well as you obviously know the sledding is great... so is the dirtbiking and generally any back country activity you can think of...
Downside is you will be lucky to find anything other than a 1 bedroom condo for $150k in Pemberton.

Jobs are another issue. Not alot of jobs around that actually pay decent, coming from the patch you probably lookin at min 50-70% pay cut unless you get a gov't job or you've got a marketable trade.

For the type of money you're talking you could get a real nice piece of land over in Bralorne/Goldbridge area. I have seen 10 acre parcels for 60g's but there are issues with mineral rights as there is always talk of the mining starting up again in the area. Its quite remote, especially in the Winter when the only way over the hurley is by sled (which is also part of the attraction as well). I'm currently slaving away in Vancouver to try and afford a place in the area within the next couple years. I've been here since 2006. Its a tough place to get ahead because the cost of living is so out of whack but I couldn't imagine living anywhere but the coast mountains now (Vancouver I don't care for but bralorne/goldbridge was exactly what I was looking for when I came out west.)

Good luck!:beer;
