Moving to Montrose

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give all the SW CO guys a shout out. I'm moving to the Montrose area for the winter so I figured I would put a post up to see if any local riders would be willing to show a newbie to the area around. It sounds like there are a lot of opportunities to ride fairly close and I'm excited to check all these new places out. On a normal snow year when do you guys start riding down here?

Also if anyone has any recommendations on housing in the Montrose area (I will be based out of Montrose for work, but don't mind a short drive to work) that would be appreciated. I'm looking for a 2 bedroom with a garage hopefully for working on sleds...

Any other local knowledge like how the dealers are for parts etc (I have 2 Pro's so just worried about Polaris dealers) And by any chance can someone recommend a good aluminum welder in the area? My sled deck had some issues while moving down here...

Thanks
TJ

Lucky bastage! theres lots of good places to ride ut of Montrose . Like Grand Mesa .Crested Butte, Silverton etc. just depends on which way you want to go. Im sure sme of the guys on that side of the hill will show you arund if not I come show what I know about the mesa.

English Bros. Polaris has always been good to me.

PM on the way - I have a friend that is upgrading a rental right now. Not sure what your timeframes will line up or not, but worth a shot.

Lotsa good riding to be found around Montrose. We would be happy to show you the goods! Shoot me a pm with any specific questions.
Jeff

Montrose is great! Lots of riding. Im a cat rider but ive heard good things about english bros polaris. I can show ya around the mesa I know it pretty well and always looking for new riding buddys! Welcome here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look up Joey at English Bros. Polaris, stand up guy, he treated me well on a used PRO I purchased.

Take up the offers from "Slopoke" or "M1000Mod162" on a trip to the Mesa. They'll show you a good time, and I gaurantee you will like the terrain. You'll probably end up at Thunder Mountain Lodge. Stop in I'll buy you a beer! Mark

Thanks for all the welcomes and offers guys. Looks like it shouldn't be to difficult finding some new guys to ride with which is great!

TMK- I will give your buddy a call, thanks
Cannonman- I'll take you up on that offer!
Everyone else- lets plan on meeting up sometime, bring on the snow!

I also just moved to grand junction this summer, I will be looking for some riding buddies too, hit me up when the snow starts piling up.

Hmmmm, something looks suspicious here. I offer a beer to a guy that is moving to Montrose and all of a sudden there are a lot of guys who just moved to this area!!!!!! Oh hell, all of you stop and check out the Mesa. PBR's for everyone. I'll buy the first one.

WTH? PBR? Its like your from Wisconsin or something:face-icon-small-win

Good beer called and they kicked PBR out of the family:bounce:

What's all this hype about this place you call TML? And a free beer? Ok, count me in for a few good weeks this white season!!

Tdorval, What kind of schedule are you going to be working? Midweek powder days are the sh*t. Welcome to the Western slope!!
English Bros, Weekender in Hotchkiss along with Mike at High Country in Norwood are all good to deal with.

Bohica- I accidentally hit the thumbs down on you, damn phones. My bad. My schedule should be fairly busy into december then things might slow down enough for a mid week ride once in a while...good to hear the dealers are all pretty good in the area.

Im looking forward to meeting up with everyone up there, should be a good winter!
