Moving to boise

My wife and I are moving just north of Boise in November. She has a job lined up there already. So we have nothing to worry about really. I just figured you guys on here may know of something for me to do. I work on a NASCAR team in nc now and have for 6 years. I'm 26 years old and will do anything. I grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. I'm sure this question comes up fairly often. But it's tough finding out what my career here will get me there. I'm up for any suggestions.
Thank you,
Brandon

Moving to Boise

I wish you luck in your quest for a job here in the Boise area. The department of labor has pretty good data on the local job market. Idaho is a right to work state, so we are not known for high pay - but the quality of life makes up for it.

If I can assist with your real estate needs / questions, don't hesitate to call me at 28-573-0471.

I am in McCall, and recently found out what a large business here pays, I was stunned. Just above minimum.
WHen places advertise for job openings, they get HUNDREDS of applications, many of which are from people who's work experience/skills show that they are hurting in being willing to take a job that they are so overqualified for.
HOWEVER: I am also noticing that many people are unwilling to actually WORK and do a good job! I cannot believe some of the crappy customer service and work I have seen here. It is no wonder that locals businesses fail here all the time. Whatever you do, if you are willing to work and do a good job at whatever you do, you will probably be fine. I make my money online so location doesn't matter to me, my wife recently opened a business (hair salon) and after 4 months is doing GREAT, because she does a good job, charges an honest amount, and people are tired of local drama, hack haircuts, and BS. With 6-7 salons in a tiny town, she should be hurting but has filled a need that others have been unable to.
Sorry for the rant, if you want to go riding hit me up!

You are a very lucky guy to be able to live there. It is a beautiful place! I would definitely like to go riding with you. I should be there for the upcoming season. I would also like to get on some type of grooming and snowmobile club when I get there. Is the riding as awesome there as it seems? I've only been there in the summer a couple times. Does your wife join you on a ride from time to time? My wife would like to get out and do or at least try. I think she would love it. I've only had her trail riding in Wisconsin. But she's pretty good. Where do you ride around there? Just trying to picture it. North end?

Thank you,

LOL, no luck about it. :) I grew up in Alaska, moved to Vancouver WA for over two years (horrible place, lol) then one day decided I had had enough, googled "snowmobiling" and somehow came up with McCall, packed up the kids and wife, drove over, met a property manager, rented a house, drove home, packed our stuff, waited for my son to be born, then moved when he was two weeks old. That was last October.
I rode almost exclusively with a friend that lives here (that I didn't even realize was here until I came over to look at houses), we rode out of his house which is a couple miles from my house. So we rarely went more than 10 miles from his house, I didn't get to see a lot of what is here. We have actually gone out farther (Blacktip) in our lifted Excursion, so I know where to go to get to the good stuff now. Either way, being able to go out for a 3 hour ride and still be able to work or do other things is amazing, after living in Alaska and spending 6 hours driving to go riding for 3. Plus, we moved this spring and I am 99% sure I can get out to the mountains/trail system from our new place. :)
I am not sure about the grooming deal, I know the guy that knows about it posts here. WIth the kids the wifey rarely gets a chance to get out with me, she made it one time last year, I bought a sled for her father to use when he visited, then she ran it the day after he did, it caught fire and burned less than a mile from the truck. So she wasn't real hyped on riding after that, lol. After the kids get bigger she will get into it.
Where we went was always the North end, Brundage and lake area. I need to explore more this year. The riding is good for wifeys in that where we went, we were always within a short distance of a groomed trail, even when in the deep stuff. LMK if you have any more questions!
