Moving Battery

Hey Guys,
Did a search and never found anything? I have a 800 Proclimb with ES and Ballistic battery. I figured i would get better input from the turbo boys! Has anyone moved the battery from the seat to the engine compartment? Any pics? what type of brackets? was it hard to do? just looking to put the new style tank and seat on but need to move battery.

Thanks in advance!

Did you have to remove tank to get all the wires out? anybody make a battery box kit for them?

I've made my own battery boxes depending which size battery we install. I like putting the battery between the front of the tank and the jack shaft on the tunnel.

Hey Rich, how about a picture of that set up?

Thanks,
Woody

Here is one we did using the stock battery mounting hardware and build a heat shield. This is with a Shorai battery the same dimensions as stock but very light.

Antigravity used to make a box I think but never had them in stock and I'm not sure they make them now. Would be nice, less work than building.

I used the 8-cell cuz I wanted to see how it would work for maximum weight loss. Never had a problem with it starting in 1000 miles. It was alittle slow cranking when the sled sat out in the weather over night at below 20F. I dont think id ever sell an 8-cell to a customer. A bigger battery would fit there.

This is what I did on my wifes M8 as well. Works great, just not quite as easy to get to if needed.
I like that it doesn't add weight to the very front of the machine as well, and the weight is centred on the machine.
