Moved from Montana to Hawaii

Took better job on kauai hi. last year - left montana snow, yea yea scuba is fun, the fishing right on, every thing is great BUT I'm going nuts with out a sled. They have a drag strip here so thinking " drag sled ", what the heck it would be the only sled for 2500 miles call me krazy.....!!!!!!
Anyway i was just poping in on you guys-- i had to rejoin as a new member for some reason with this new format but back under the same name.
Remember hug that snow, man you dont know how much you miss it tell
you don't have it at all.

There are a couple of sleds on the BI. I thought of shipping an old XLT there, just because. Sorry to burst your bubble.....I was standing at the gate of Mauna Kea that was closed due to heavy snow and this guy walks up and aaks If I brought my snowmobile? Right in from of the ranger...I had tlaked to him a month or so before while playinng in the snow and told him about my crazy thought.
I spent much of the last four years there, BI, Maui, Oahu, Kauai...Glad to be back home in Alaska.

One spot on top of the moutain gets 400 inches a year, an average max record. You would have the only sled for 300 miles, not 2500.
Enjoy the rest of the isles while your there. Oahu sucks, Maui is fun and BI rocks! I love it there! Kauai got old after a couple of days for me and the diving was poor to marginal compared to the rest of the islands. Many love it there and even though thay have been to other isles, they always go back to Kauai. To each his own. Enjoy your time there!

I know they have sleds on the big island, Its just that i have not been sledding for over a year now and it feels like there is not a sled around for 2500 miles, i bet there's not to maney asphalt sleds around - so i think i'll build one, everyone i talk to at the drag strip here have never seen one run, they think it would be a kick, the bike guys
want to run with it. i've got a psi vanamburg mod for deep stuff - just need to do a little swaping around, find a little wedge drag chasi to pop it into wala the sound of 3 cylinders again

lived with 2 different Hawaiian boys during college. one was 50/50 white/Filipino, the other 100% jap, but both born/raised on Hawaii. Ever heard of Safari helo tours on Kauai and the BI? That's my buddies Dad's company...he now flies the charter plane for him (King Air and Maul). Anyway...

I need to get to Hawaii again before it gets too expensive.

I moved to Miami from Oregon, I still go back and ride at least once a month, kinda spendy but worth it.

Oh hawaii is great,camping on the beach is good fun and hunting pig with a spear is a hoot, I had a whale go right by me when i was diving the other weekend with friends,
Its just that after bening on a sled since 1979 you kinda miss the smell ya know, out boards just don't do it for me.

Think house and toy swap for a week or two. Your Kauai home with diving toys and a car for a moutain home with sleds and a car...Nice swap huh?
