Mouting a Hot Dogger

What is the best way of mounting a Hot Dogger on a iq chassi? I tried mounting mine on, but it rubs against the hood pretty good. Just wondering how every one has theirs. Thanks, pics would be very helpful also.

I don't remember if there is room down on the can on the Polaris, so I may be speaking out of line here but I ride Cat..... I put mine on the can saves the hood and saves from the thing rubbing all over and sliding on the pipe. Go to Schwabs or any tire store and get the clamps they use for the Tire pressure monitors (they are big enough to fit around the can and fit nice and tight) I used two, to keep it good and sturdy on there. Its right there handy, if food juice leaks at least its all in one area instead of all over the entire motor.

I wud do that, but i just got a new shiny can. So I dont really want to scratch it all up, just yet. ;)

I use the Muff Pot on my sleds. They are a higher profile unit than the Hotdogger so if you are indeed using the hotdogger, it should have even more clearance than these muff pots.

Make sure you cut grooves in the lip of the shield on the pipe where the clamp goes, or they will slide around like crazy.

Here is how i have them installed on all my sleds..see attachments below :)

I had mine on teh hose clamp on the pipe just before its biggest point on my 900 last year. The latch did wear into the foam on the hood a bit.

Now that the gigantic airbox is gone, it'll be going just after the Y-pipe and it shouldn't interfere with the hood anymore.

Thought about hanging it near the end of the pipe but that made accessing it rather difficult and doesn't get as warm there.

I tried putting it right after the Y pipe, and it rubbed. But I might just have to let it rub. Thanks for the pics timbre, the hotdogger is longer though. It causes problems trying to get it to fit over the different angles.

Bkinz, A Muffpot will fit right after the Y pipe, just tip it to the side a little. Mine has been on since the 06-07 season and has never rubbed on the hood. The Hot Dogger is to long to fit right.
