I've got a set of compfusion front mounts soon to be on the way, now I just checked the rear mounts, and they are hooped too!! Oh yeah, my slp torque arm is also shot!! Holy crap, it's one thing after another. A hundred bucks here, three hundred there.....and the list keeps growing as the wallet is shrinking!

WOW, if you don't mind my asking... HOW the heck do you ruin an SLP torque arm?:eek::eek:

Same problems. And i've never even ridden the damn thing yet. Ordered comp fusion and the harder duro rear mounts yesterday. Debating on picking up a new torque arm but i probably will.

The bushing material is mashed out of the inside, and not sitting true anymore.
I guess that's what happens when your front mounts, and rear mounts are cooked. The motor is shifting all over the place!!! Oh yeah, and one of the push stops is mashed out as well. Next......

I was going to update mine to compfusion as a precaution when I had my motor out a few weeks ago. But with 2100 miles the factory ones were all still good and tight. Yes, I did the vice trick and tried to pry them sideways. I replaced them with a new pair of factory ones and will go another 2k miles I am sure. One thing I did when my sled was new was to de-burr the crank and balance the primary. So be sure and doo that as well.

once one goes... the remainder follow ... including the torque stops and arms....

A lot of people dont even realize that they have broken mounts since you cant really tell when the 900/755 is still in the sled.

Such a sad story really. It really makes you wonder how many other sleds are himarking around with busted motor mounts, not just the 900's?

Thats sad to hear Mac, but yes VERY common...and like MH said, once one is gone..they are all gonna be shot if not repaired ASAP..

Like Himark said, i would get the Primary balanced ASAP and it will prevent issues like this, along with good stiff mounts, ALL grade 8 bolts in your front mounts, rear mounts, and in the front crossmember plate (for front motor mounts) and your good to go..

if i were you..since you already got the Compfusion mounts..and you need the rear anyways..DO NOT..buy the factory 06 rear mounts..i would spend the extra $ and get some from hiperf.com, they are harder durometer and will last awhile and youll be good to go..

P/n# #345-513
$42.95 EACH

ones from the dealer are about the same money. Is it that important to get the hiperf ones? Does it really matter for the rear ones? It's just a lot easier to get the ones from the dealer. But if it is worth the hassel, I would get the hi perf ones. Actually, it's starting to stress me out. The more I look at things, I think, while its apart, I might as well upgrade this and that etc, but where do we draw the line?

Mac,

if it were me, i would get the mounts from Hiperf. They are a stronger durometer then the stock rear mounts..so your getting better/stronger mounts for the same money....and your good up front with the compfusion mounts..so why not get comparable in the rear...and IMHO..do the grade 8 bolts on EVERYTHING to do with the motor install...

as far as stressing you out, dude...trust me...WE ALL COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND!!!! i had the same concerns when i bought my 900 and thought i got a money pit, i will never be able to ride it, just buy buy buy..but start small man..here is a list of things iw ould do if was you, just to get the next season to go well..then when you get some more $$ and time next spring, do some more stuff...

-compfusion mounts..check
-hiperf rear mounts..check
-balance your primary...MOST IMP THING YOU CAN DO...PERIOD!!
-dial in your clutching, if you need help, let me know i have a good setup
-better boards..very nice, but not mandatory w/o extra $
-updated TPS harness..let me know if you need the p/n#
-check your TPS setting..check the sticky on the top page
-new fuel filter (also from Hiperf.com p/n#241-206)
-run pertorleum oil (NOT AMSOIL or VES GOLD)..check the "crankin on my 06 900" thread
-WARM UP YOUR sled slowly, heat cycle it...warm up to temp, cool completely down, warm up again, shut off and fuel up (same time you fuel up its cooling down) then start up and ride like you stole it..and i will assure you that your crank will warm up and youll be set!!
you'll have a great season...

if you need anything Mac, just drop me a PM and i will do whatever you need to help you out and calm you down, lol..

no worries bud! whatever you do to that baby...you will LOVE IT!!

Thanks Sean for the info, and support. But just a side note, I spoke to one of the techs at Hiperf and he said that they have never made a harder duro for the 900 rear mounts. Only the oem ones, which he assured me that they were the same quality of polaris ones.

hmm

REALLY...Hmmmm... not was i was told...well then..i would get a nice set of stock 06 rears from your local dealer, like you wanted all along, lol...

thanks for finding that out..i should have called and verified myself before i hit it so hard.

Hi Perf carries the OEM 2006 mount which is a higher duro mount than the 2005. It is a bolt in replacement for either year 900/755.

www.hiperf.com

Front Motor Mount - POLARIS(Reference #345-512) $28.95

Rear Motor Mount - POLARIS(Reference #345-513) $42.95

While you are shopping.... buy a couple of fuel filters... a little cheaper than the dealer and should be replaced at the beginning of EVERY season.

Fuel Filter / Hose Assembly(Reference #241-206)
# POLARIS MODELS 700 Classic, Fusion, Touring, RMK 2006
# 900 Fusion, Switchback 2005-06
# 900 RMK 2005/2006
$20.95

Strange. When I talked to the tech for like 10 mins, he really talked me out of them. Told me that they were the same quality as the oem ones, and assured me that they have never made harder duro ones for the 900. Weird. He told me that they make a harder duro for some other models, like the 800 but definitely told me that they make a nock off of the ones from polaris, same duro and everything. Frustrating indeed. Because I just received a new set today from the dealer.

not sure what to think of that...

I was told that the only ones available are the 2006, harder duro mounts part #3021753

If the 2005 mounts are still available (PN 3021577)... I would reccomend going to the above part number.

Hi Perf has the #3021753 (their #345-512) at $29 each.

Ok so 06 is just a harder duro 05....

Will see when hpe gets them in stock....says 0 right now, I will give em a call

So the 3021206 Rear mount for 06 RMK, must be a softer durometer mount? That's the OEM # found in quite a few aftermarket books.

SLP has Trail and Race mounts listed and from this description one would think they would work. Racing Motor Mount, Rear, 90 Durometer, All Models EXCEPT 2002-05' 6/7/800 Twins.

Yes...... this is confusing, and most CSR's at Hi-perf, JR Graham, Shadetree, etc.. probably don't know what it is we are after and just go with either what we want to hear (yes these will work on a 05 900 RMK) or what the description is in the book in front of them.
