Hi guys,

Sorry to throw another thread at ya, but I am completely new to riding in Nevada. I live in Whistler BC but work for a company based in Elko with exploration projects near Carlin on the Carlin trend (very near Pine Mountain).

Where, who or what do I talk to to find some good sledding in around these parts? Just want to visit and enjoy the snow...going to drive down with my sled in February '11 (only two months away!!!).

Really keen to ride in around the Rain and Railroad districts on the Carlin Trend in particular...and the Ruby's too...

thanks in advance for any help offered

"LONGGOLD"... what kind a ride are ya' after? From Whistler, i'd guess a good day of climbing? For your FIRST visit to the area... the Rubies are where its at! But lost of other areas too... just depends on how many days ya' got! PM'd ya...

There is tons of good riding in the Elko area. The Rubies are by far my favorite, but then again I haven't done a ton of riding north of town either. The Rubies definitely have LOTS of steep and deep country. Just keep in touch with us when the time comes and I am sure any one of us on here would gladly hook up with you and show you around.

Thanks for the input guys...I will definitely give you firm dates and hopefully it all works out. WIll probably be around for about a week in Feb...and pretty excited.

I Ride in the heavy West Coast snow, as it doesnt get too cold up here. I ride steep, deep tree's...but anything steep and deep is good. I dont have a turbo, so dont ride much in the way of shoots and barely bother to high-mark as I am always about 80lbs heavier than my riding partners (6'3" 245lb's)...but I can definitely look after myself on the hill.

luke...
