Mountain Mod's new XP seats

Here are the final 2 new seat for the 08/09 skidoo XP's. One has a nice trunk and the other does not. They clip in just like the factory one. Murray is also considering a plastic compartment that would fill in under the trunk that would you would be able to get at by removing the seat. THe problem with the shorter seat is if there was a trunk in there you'd be sittin on it..to short. The trunk back style one is longer which causes the issue with the tank.....

Big improvement

Count me in! I had a chance to demo one of these seats last year (without the trunk). It is definitely a big improvement over the stock one.

I agree, the first seat looks really bad. I would go with boss.

Hes working on a plastic compartment to fill in that gap below the trunk style seat. It will fully inclose the area and if you want to get into it you un clip the seat and grab your stuff....will give you extra storage...can never have enough IMO

I really dislike the look of the first one...the second is pretty much the factory seat with upgraded foam. We need one to look more like the second option with storage room incorporated.

OK I just talked to murray and the bottom section is under way....his plan is to make the piece underneath out of black abs plastic...the same stuff he makes his bases out of. Hes thinking of upholstering it to match and putting a bag inside it so nothing can or will fall out....like I said to access it you unclip the seat (like the factory one) and then you can get at the extra compartment...should be slick.

Also found out on the BOSS XP seat to make it fit they want you to cut the plastic clips off the gas tank which is crazy...if you ever want to switch back your screwed. They use the usual velcro and snaps which suck IMO as the always fail when your on the hill.....can anyone verify this that has an XP Boss seat?

I was looking at the getting a seat. Always had a Boss. Found out a week ago you have to cut off all the factory clips to make work. Horrible design flaw from Boss as I always put my stock seat back on to sell my sleds.
This Mod seat looks awesome. Just looked at thier web site. Most seats are $699, ouch.

The first seat doesn't look clean. I like the second seat though. What is the weight? The stock seat weighs 7 or so pounds, that is lighter than my Boss seat on my old Rev.

The trunkless one is right at 5 lbs....with the extra height added ect. Not a big weight savings here more of a when you sit on it or kneel on it your not gonna be on the tank like the stocker....The second seat with the compartment below is gonna be nice for guys who want extra room to carry stuff.....hes working on the mold now and when hes got something ready I will post pics

Of the two seats I prefer the second one the best.
Now, the second seat would even be better if Murray could
just put a storage on the back of the seat similar to Boss's that would be
great, providing he doesn't infrige on Boss's rights.

X2, the first one doesn't look right. Looks like it would rip right off with a good jump from one side to the other. How are they held on?

Good comments guys...murray has been following this thread and has got some new ideas....he wants this XP seat to be loved by everyone and he will try his hardest to make everyone happy....its on his plate right now

Love the extra storage idea. seeing the xp has storage for what... a xtra belt , more would be great. sj
