Mountain Max Rear Skid options

I'm working on my 01 Mountain Max, trying to make it more fun for my girlfriend to ride. I just put a 151" track on it and that was a big improvement. I noticed when changing the track how heavy the rear skid is. Are there any other options that might be lighter. Will a skid from a newer sled fit in with minimal alterations? Any aftermarket options? Also, if you disconnect the sway bar, do you have to leave it in the sled or does it come out? If it comes out, how?

Skid wise, your best bet is swapping it out in favor of a Cat skid. Lots of them kicking around, reasonably priced. Sure, you can go aftermarket, but how much do you want to spend?

Sway bar comes out. You have to drill the rivets out on the plates that hold the plastic bushings inside the bulkhead, or just cut it.
