mountain max 600 riser height

What is the highest riser you can put on a 1997 mm600 without having to extend cables? At what height is it a good idea to put the steering coloumn stiffener in? Thanks in advance.

I put a 2 inch in and had to extend cables. The column stiffner is a must But if you want to do it right u need to weld some gussets under the handle bar mounting plate. That plate breaks right where it is welded onto the column.

does anybody know where i can get a stiffener because MPI doesn't sell one anymore
