Mountain Lion attack in Black Hills

http://keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=0,67035

But noooo we shouldn't have a Mt. Lion hunting season...they're scared of people...theres not enough of them in the Hills to cause a threat to people...they're so cute and harmless...but it's the people that are bringing this on themselves...it was just his punishment for hurting those poor fish with a hook...wah wah wah

Maybe this will shut those anti hunting idiots up for a few seconds.

Wow,

I am surprised that the media and sdgf&p even released that story. It would have been alot easier for them to hide it just like they hid the fact that there are actually mt. lions in the hills for years.

Makes me want to head out with the 50 cal smoke pole and do some "coyote" calling this week.

I was also surprised.. cause the sdgf&p loves to hide crap like that.. Just like the wolves (with gps) that came all the way from yellowstone.. that are currently residing in the hills... havent heard anything about that?...

But locally we are doing our part :D:eek:;)

They did the story on the little old lady that shot one in her yard earlier this year.. I will see if I can dig that up.

the good news is that mountain lions seem to prefer the taste of treehuggers to senseable americans! must be all the lettuce

There is a Mountain Lion season in the Black Hills

Yeah, but the quota isn't big enough. First year the quota was like 16 females and the last I heard the quota was at 26 females. It doesn't take long for them to fill the quota either. I think the first year they filled it in just over a week. In 98 GFP said there were no cats. in 01 or o2 they did a survey that the had 250-300 cats and unofficially the suspected 4-500. I don't think I see as many deer out there in the last 2 years as I did the 5 before then. I'd say there allot of them.

Here in CO I think the deer donate about 20% of their herd to cats. I have a cabin in an area with a high cat count. Didn't see but 2 does hunting this year, but I did get stalked by a kitty. I guess you just have to wait out the cycles, but when the cats get low on natural food hide your pets and carry lots of lead.
