Mountain Horse chain and Gear replacement

Hey,
Im going to swap out my old gears and chains for new ones, I briefly tried to take them off the other day but the master link was a pain! Also is there any tips or tricks on getting the gears swapped out?

Change your carrier bearings also.

The chain/sprocket change is straight forward. Use a puller to remove the chaincase sprockets if nessary. The chain will come off with the sprockets and will be reinstalled with the sprockets.

Remove the disc brake and with some lube the shaft will push toward the disc side to replace the primary sprocket.

I have done 5 sprocket sets to date and 7 chains along with 6 carrier bearings. For safe measure replace your upper chaincase bearings.
Our group has lost two upper bearings on the mountain so we started changing them out and have found most have had water in them and would fail in time. USE good KOYO bearings like the ones that came with the MH.

To might need a chain tool to install the master link easly.
