Looking at making the switch from 2 stroke to 4. My MC is completely stock except for a can and some clutching. I don't know a thing about these new yamaha 4 strokes, but I really like what I've seen and heard about the Apex. How does a stock out of the box sled do in the Mountains? I'm very happy with the Mountain Cat, just looking at the dependability of a four stroke. Can someone else who has made the jump help me out here?

The stock Apex out of the box will work,ride,feel way better than the old mountain cat. Need more power just boost it and your in a world of your own.

I own both the cat is a fun sled the ride sucks compared to the Apex, The apex is a way better sled in every aspect exept it is way heavy without boost its a good sled the cat will out climb it when the cat is stuck its a 1 man gig when the Apex is stuck its a 3-4 man gig. BUT with boost you wont ever be stuck unless it has to do with a tree,stump or rider being stupid. In the deep powder I have never ridden a sled that feals as good as A Apex it is A real dream to ride In the hard pack it is HEAVY. If you boost it you will have a smile on your face all day long. I would realy ask yourself if your hill climbing is minimal and tree riding is a little And you dont get stuck alot the Apex is A dream stock Butwith boost there is nothing that will touch it
Its an 03 Mountain Cat 900 M1 with a 159 track, I really like it, climbs great, but have had some engine problems, and I don't really care to mess around, I just want to jump on it and go.
