P pstock800 Free Member Jan 18, 2010 #1 ny mt cat is running at 1200 egt at wide open at short spurts. if i put the choke on 1/2 it brings it down to 1000. any ideas what is ok. i know around 1400 aluminum will melt.

Rixster Well-known member Premium Member Jan 18, 2010 #2 If your probes are mounted in the right location 1200 is a bit on the high side. I didnt like to see over 1100 for more then a couple seconds.
