Everything is differnt but if you had to then yes it will fit but everything is different from a 05 800HO to a 07 800R.

yes you can.. you need the wire harness and ecm from the 07.. it is nice if you have the 07 for parts... a friend of mine did it.. he found a wrecked 07 and did the switch

For 800r swap......You do not need the wire harness from the 2007. All the electrical 2005 stuff will work (stator, ecm,etc.) . What you need from an '07 is the exhaust, ( 2008-12 xp chassis y-pipe, pipe, and aftermarket can fit just fine btw) . Convert the exhaust rave valves to work manually and it will run better anyway.

The 2005 Carbs will work fine too. just rejet.
