motor mount and crank recommendations

I have two 2005 rmk 900 166 sleds. They have about 5oo and 1200 miles on them respectively. I have been talking to a lot of 900 owners and reading all of the posts on issues and problems with them. I plan on rebuilding the lower ends (cranks etc.) and am looking for recommendations for parts and options. I am also wanting to replace the motor mounts due to all of the posts regarding suboptimal OEM mounts. Please send me any advice on both engine rebuilds and motor mount options. Not looking for a huge performance increase, just want reliability so that the sled doesn't leave me stranded in the backcountry due to OEM design shortcomings.

Parts recommedations and places to purchase these parts what I am looking for.

If reliability is what you are looking for than you should send your bottom ends to Indydan at Indy Specialty and look into his torque master crank updates.

agree totally with above post. also since they are 05s you need to look into swithing out the pistons for OEM 06 pistons. the 05 had a poorly designed piston that was very prone to failure. replacing them now is much cheaper than waitin for one to go.

As for the motor mounts you can replace them with the 06 O.E.M. Polaris mounts and use the SLP torque and push arms to keep the motor in place or you can get a set of compfusion mounts.

You can also go with the 32mm updated crank kit from Polaris that comes with a new large taper clutch and belt... then throw in a set of 06 pistons while you're at it and you'll be set!
