motor mount '03 800 vertical escape?

I am soon coming to the point of checking/replacing the main crank bearing on this engine. I spoke with the guy at fastrax the other day and he said one of the issues with the motor and the crank bearing is the motor mounts to the bulkhead via the 2 mount strips. He stated that a motor plate would resolve alot of the issue related to the twisting of the motor on those mount strips. I googled engine plate/mount plate and found not much data. One guy on the snowest forum installed the SLP mount plate and had some alignment issues but the thread kind of just died and no other information was available.

Any ideas? your 2cents?

thx

I have a solid 7/16 plate pluse a eng case plate from PSI ,havent touched the bottom end for 7years. Its a very good idea stiffens up the block to prevent any twisting.

I run an SLP engine plate they are nice and haven't heard of any alignment issues related to those if I did it over again I would use one that Curt at Fastraxx sells as I feel they are beefier than the SLP one's with his you would need to drill the holes for the engine to mount too so you'd want to double check the alignment so you don't drill the holes off. Along with the engine plate I would recommend the front torque stop on the clutch side and the torque stop for the exhaust side any way you can stop that motor from moving or twisting will save the crank.
