motor biuld up on APEX at what PSI

How many PSI of boost befor you should put carrelo rods and je pistons in also whats better the pistons or head shim and what the diffrents. Boondocker told me 20 PSI befor any motor work but it sounds like it needs to be done at a much lower PSI.

most recomened 16-18lbs boost after that rods & piston there is no right or wrong when it comes tolowering your comp headshim or turbo pistons both work the headshim is just the cheaper way of doing it.dont run 20lbs boost on stock rods they will go boom just a matter of time.

Ya, some claim anything over 15 lbs is unsafe but you can probably get away with 17 just fine for quite some time. Once you start getting near 20 it's Russian Roulette. If you want to do it right get the low compression pistons. Headshims work but they can cause inconsistencies and you are more prone to have a head gasket failure under big boost than running forged pistons. Just my opinion from talking with multiple engine builders.
