motoman vs. manuel breal in procedures

on every four stroke i buy i just let it run through 2 full heat cycles ( start it warm it up then let it cool off) run it for 20 minutes change the oil cycle it again and rip on it :D

Back in the 80's, my friends family got 2 brand new Chevy 4 doors.(same model I forget) One was givin to the kids, the other the wife drove. I don't need to to tell you the difference in the break in meathods... do I?
When the kids would have both cars (and race them) the one that was broken in by the kids was always way faster.

Here's me breakin in my Nytro on the first ride with 20 miles on the sled. Notice how I never back of the gas for almost a full 60 seconds.

Hammer Down! :D

It's been proven that WFO is better. My MTX has been ridden wide open from day 1 and 550 miles later it friggin rips.

I dont even like to start a new sled up very often untill I'm ready to uload it and hammer on it hard for 20 miles.
Break them in fast and hard and they WILL make more power then one glazed in by the book. Eric

Moto man it is. How should I rip on it before the first oil change?

I am sure most of these things are pretty much broken in from factory but when I rebuild a engine (car, sled, bike,...) I use non synthetic oil for the first 1000 or so miles, start it up, let it warm up to opperating temps (if you have new cams this is the time to break them in) then shut it down and change oil. Then I go take it out for a rip and do a couple of pulls and let the engine do all the braking when you let off the gas. This way you seat both sides of the rings. I would change the oil again after the first ride.

I am with rulesey on this one. Break in happens very quickly. When it,s new don,t keep starting it just to hear it run or show ur buds. Warm it up; get on it & ride. I do like to use a semi-broken in belt or take it 3/4 easy just enuff to break in a new belt.

Well I riped on the nitro and then on the phazer. Total miles 40. Pretty much banged away the whole time. Only down time was everyother 5 miles I traded off with my wife. My wife liked my nitro better, less tippy. What can I do to get my wife to like her phazer more than my nitro. The phazer is fun but I love the grunt of the nitro.
