Looking to get my KX450 tuned up for summer riding. I want to get the suspension dialed in for me...but I don't want to have jack with it too much when I strap the timbersled on it this fall. Any recommendations? Any good shops in the Denver area that knows how to tune snow bike suspensions really good?

Thanks!

Snow bike forks are like super cross suspensions, at least on my bikes, not good for colorado rocks, I have different forks for summer!my KX uses stock forks as does my SX and some times it's to soft, wouldn't think of riding either forks in the summer!unless it's on the track!in the high country rocks I have KREFT suspensions on my 300's works great but I know there are several colorado guys, Durell come to mind!

Dave at STM Suspension in Fort Collins has a ton of moto experience and can talk for hours about suspension dynamics in anything from auto racing to landing gear on a jet airliner. I don't know if he's done any snow bike stuff yet, but I'm sure he'd be able to set something up for you.

Having said that, I've had decent luck with swapping in stiff springs, running some heavy 20wt oil, and cranking the clickers up for snow bike use. That's fairly easy to switch back and gives you a reason to do a fork oil change.

Get your bike set up for dirt the way you want it. Then when winter comes set your compression full stiff (count the clicks before the you adjust) and put in a stiff set or fork springs and you will be set.
