Moto Fist Gear

MotorFist Gear

Picked up a new set of gear this weekend at Jackson Hole. Bought bibs and a coat from Josh at MotorFist (used to be To Be rep). Wore the gear all weekend up on the hill. Good fit and the material very seems durable. I always liked my To Be gear but I can already I this stuff will be better.. Plus the warranty is pretty impressive on the gear... I have bought stuff from Josh before and has allways had top notch service. Thanks again!

Warranties are only as good as the company that stands behind them, or are still in business when needed.

They hired a couple of high paid people away from Polaris. Also heard that they will be using Event membrane next year. Who knows if they can keep it all together. Good luck to them.

I saw that at West Yellowstone. Left me scratching my head. I thought Klim already tried the eVent thing and ended up with a serious warranty problem after about a year. I don't think eVent backs up their product like Gore does. They had a demonstration set up at West showing how eVent breathes better than Gore. I was talking to a buddy who is a design engineer for Cabelas, he said all this demonstration proves is that eVent is not windproof.

I hope they make a go of it as well, but they seem to want to compete with the best and that's not going to happen if they don't get Gore on their side. They need to go after the mid line manufactures where they stand a fighting chance. IMO.

I now have a half dozen rides on my stuff. I have always been a "Klim Man" and until this stuff proves out for a whole season I will keep my multiple sets of Klim gear as back up. But, as of right now, I like this stuff better. I have ridden in wet heavy snow and deep dry snow in the sun. The #1 thing that I have noticed is that I'm not wet with sweat at the end of a day of riding. For me, that = more fun through out the day. Again, I'm not completely sold.....yet, but it's looking good so far. I bought my stuff from Mike at Helmet Outlet in Hayden Lake Id. They have the gear on their web site and they are having KILLER end of the season sales!

eVent fabrics get their unique properties from a proprietary and patented waterproof membrane. Its unique composition allows millions of tiny pores to breathe at their full potential. Sweat vents directly to the outside of the fabric in one easy step. We call this Direct Venting™ Technology. Its genius is hidden in its simplicity. eVent fabrics simply let the sweat out.™

Most common waterproof/breathable technologies do not literally "breathe". Instead they move sweat in two slow steps by a process of diffusion through a Polyurethane (PU) layer. First sweat is condensed and absorbed into the PU layer on the inside of the fabric. Because PU absorbs and retains sweat, the inside of the fabric becomes wet. Then, body heat begins to push that dampness through to the outside of the fabric where it can finally evaporate - a very inefficient process.

eVent fabrics provide durable waterproof protection, trusted by people like you in the most extreme weather conditions on the planet.

We could mention the exceptionally low "Water Vapor Resistance" (RET) of eVent fabrics. Or, we could talk about how much higher our "Moisture Vapor Transmission Rates" (MVTR) are in laboratory tests. But, do you run in the lab? Do you ice climb inside a climate chamber? The bottom line is decided in the field. Out there it's a black and white world: you're either wet or dry. You either soak in your own sweat, or not. It's that simple. eVent fabrics let the sweat out.™

All eVent fabrics protect you from the wind. And, all eVent fabrics provide you with sweat-free comfort through our unique Direct Venting™ Technology. Garments, gloves and footwear made with eVent Waterproof fabric add another level of protection. Patented surface treatments and fabrication methods keep out water - even hard-driving rains - without blocking those millions of tiny pores that let the sweat out.™.
