moto bars

hey i was just wondering if any of you have pulled off the stock bars and put on moto bars?
im going to be doing this soon and i want to get rid of all the junk on the bars, i want to run a billet throttle block and a small killswithc on the bars and have everything else on switches down on the dash somwhere.

my question is what kind of swich can i use for the reverse. and where can i get one. im riding a 09 hcr. if you guys have any pics that would be cool to. and i did search so if i missed a thread on this then i apologize.

I would recommend RSI bars. they are wider to accommodate big throttle blocks and master cylinders. you will just need a momentary switch for the reverse. rsi sells a couple different ones. and for the kill switch you will need a perm on off switch for a cat. the cat, and Polaris race sleds come with some pretty cool ones.
I would just hop on the RSI website, the can set you up with everything from risers to grip heaters. you will just need to source a different kill switch.

hey thanks for the help, i got everything other than the reverse switch, but now i know what im looking for. i was on the rsi site before i posted this and i didnt see a switch for the reverse, must have missed it.

he is ridding a AC HCR and your add says that the open or momentary switch design will not work on arctic cats. can you shed some light on this?

Make sure to post a picture when you get this complete. I am thinking of doing some RSI bars on my M8 next summer and i just want to see what it looks like.

ya il try and post some picks up when im done. what rsi is talking about is using there killswitch for the reverse switch and im on my own to find a closed circuit switch for the kill switch, ive seen one before il just have to find it again. and what i plan on running is there carbon fiber back country bar, with there billet kill switch for my reverse switch, and il get one of the closed circuit kill switches off the race sleds, and a billet throttle block. and then just run 2 way toggle switches down on the dash for hand thumb warmers and hi/low beams. should be alot cleaner. if any one else has done this some pics would be nice.

-double wall renthal bars(the best imo)
-tether cord for kill switch
-No key ignition
-very clean set up

just curious what u have for a riser and how u mounted ur controller box to it. and did u just wire in a tether cord in place of ur ignition? pretty straight forward to do? and where did u get your throttle block. ur bar set up looks really clean.

I have done the work you are talking about. However, I like to have a grab bar from time to time and like the stock one the best. So, I trimmed down the rubber and got the snow pro throttle block and lever from the F7. I run the sno pro hand guards. Put all the switches in the dash. Just bought some from Radio Shack. Added a teather to the left side.

I got the throttle block and lever and the handguards from my dealer. They are all stout parts for their racing machines. I got the kill switches (teather and kill) from the dealer too. The riser is an amp racing 3" riser.

I'll see if I can find some pics.
