I have done some reading and looking at places where people have mounted their scratchers on their sled and it seems that they are all over the place.. I am wanting to keep my temps as cool as possible and am looking for the best place on the rail to mount these that will accomplish this..I know mounting them anywhere is better than none at all, but dont want to regret where I drill the hole(s) in my rails later..:D Anyone know??

The farther forward the better. Most people choose to remove the front bogie wheel and mount the scratcher right there. I prefer to retain my bogies, so I mount it directly behind the front bogie wheel just as close as I can get it without removing it.

EXACTLY...

if you wanna keep your wheel and use the scratcher you can get these from RSI..pretty slick...
