MORRISSEY ROAD------CONDITIONS

Heard some people were staging up near the cat ski corner on Morrisey. Riding was ok in the rolling hills when we were there. We staged just past the coal creek staging area with no problem on Sat. Trails were fine after you go up a little ways and the latest forecast says 25 cm fresh on Fernie ski hill and Westcastle says 50 cm fresh up top.:face-icon-small-hap

So is there a place to park farther up from the staging area at Morrissey ( cat ski corner???) I've always unloaded at the main staging area

Just what i read earlier today. Quote:we staged at km24 on the morrisey road (5km past the cat ski lodge) and it was fine from there on. no mud on the road past there and no creeks were open.

is anyone riding fernie area during the week? looking for some people to ride with as the snow is just now starting to get good!

i wouldn't bother staging at morrisey anymore the road is awful. the dump road is much better and you can drive quite a ways. the snow at the notch is probably 3+ feet deep and stock sled was not enough power in may!
