OK this goes to the base of what our country is founded on. Every legal US citizen needs to have the right to vote....ONCE!! How about some re-form here. Come up with a way to prove you are a legal voter. Then, if you can't get to your polling place to vote then too bad. Absentee, vote by mail, and God forbid on-line voting have got to go. Get up and cast your vote. Make it the same method across the country. Good grief grade school kids know how to make a mark with a #2 pencil between lines. If you are too stupid to figure that out ask a 3rd grader. This really should be a non-partisan idea. Counting actual votes, what a concept.

So US Troops overseas don't get to vote? I mean if they can't make it to their polling place right? You have to vote in your home state, correct?
Do you have any friends/relitives overseas right now or who has served in the military MHA??? I just talked to my best friend two nights ago who has been fighting in afghan since april. He calls the states about once or twice a month. Most of them are a little busy to catch the news and whats going on back here in the states. I had to tell him all about the poor economy, wall street happenings and update him on the presidential elections! Its kinda hard for most of us here to understand the way they are living over there right now and I hate to say that most of this stuff happening in the states right now they arent worried to much about, they have more important stuff tho worry about!

But I think if your in the military your pretty much a citizen and should be able to prove who you are via your military address since it is easier to check background on a militant that a civilian.
OK, Ok, Iam very much for the military voting. They are the ones that make this whole country great. Christ I'm not a damm lawer trying to write the law but most of you know what I mean. There needs to be a way that you can show you are LEGAL to vote. Everything has some exceptions but I think some have been taken advantage of. Especially mail in. Your vote is too valuable, why is it you don't mail cash all around????
I'll be on the road the first week of November travelling for business - signed up for my mail in ballot back 4 months ago. Better have some way for people like me to vote - mail in is currently the only option.
yeah, sorry man, it sounds like a good idea, but im in college, so absentee for me.
There are some good reasons for absentee that I haven't thought of, sorry. But being too damm lazy isn't one. This is good discussion and usually makes for good decisions. Mail in and online is my biggest beef. In WA mail in is becoming our only way and call me a skeptic but I just don't trust them with that. Just what we need is to some postal employee to go well, postal. It does happen.

Do you really want homeless people that can't even read or write voting? Do you really think that people like that can weigh the facts and make a sound decision. Do you want convicted felons voting? Groups like ACORN are nothing but criminal. They are attempting to use deceitful and less than legal practices in order to get people like I mentioned to register and vote for Obama.
Me personally I want there to be hard times. That is the only way this country is going to get back on the right track and follow our constitution. So maybe I should be rooting for Obama, because he and the democratic controlled congress are going put this country in the toilet fast. Then there is the republican party. The republican party is a joke period. I am an Independent for a reason. The two party system is nothing more than a two party dictatorship. I am more conservative than the majority of registered republicans. The republican party disgraced this country by allowing the bailout bill to pass last week.
