More disgusting behavior,57 ducks killed in WI by snowmobiler

I thought it couldn't get much worse here in WI but last night it did. Someone made several passes to a "known" open section of water were ducks sit to stay warm & mowed them down. Total of 57 were killed. WTF! I am honestly embarrassed to be a snowmobiler is WI right now. Honestly what is going on here? The deer killings were horrible but killing 57 ducks is just insane.

WTF? Whoever is doing this crap needs to be thrown in prison for about 10 years and have his driving, hunting and fishing priviliges taken away for life.
 
The media is going to have a field day with this after the deer. I feel for you riders in Wi this year. It's going to be a long winter. I hope they catch the idiots!

The area that they sit is a small section of open water & lots of ducks try stay warm in that area. Its also said ducks try swim away from danger before flying so they had no chance against a fast sled. The media is having field day with this & its gonna get worse if more snowmobile deaths occur also.
 
this is starting to make me think its some kind of narco-greenie F@cktard who is trying to frame snowmobilers in order to get us this kind of bad publicity.

Then again they wouldn't have enough sack to kill animals to make us look bad.

Those people need to be put away for a long, long time.

I hate to say it, but every village has an idiot. Look at rev440 here. He is one of ours. I'm sure when he and his drunk buddies were out last night they thought it would be funny. Hopefully they don't think that way when they are sober in the morning or we are all in alot of trouble.
 
forgive me for being skeptical but something does not sound right. 57 ducks, the ones I hunt aren't that slow. Sleds are not quite and no duck is going to sit there as one is approaching..directly at him....just thinkin out loud...could they have been dead before the sled showed up. Maybe something in the waste water got them and the sled simply ran over the already dead ducks?

Actually I do believe it. Ducks or Geese for that matter that decide to hang out and winter over when they should be gone will move to a body of open water like that. If they leave that water, they will die. The water is warmer than the air or snow covered sufaces. When in the water like that when it gets really cold, they will all bunch up on top off each other. When they are in a survival type huddle like this, it takes alot to flush them. They will not move for much of anything. As little, little kids we would toss stones at them and they would just sit there ignoring us. No that wasn't right either but I'm talking 6-8yo kids that really did not know better. Dad would have had or behinds if he knew we did that then. All that to say, I can see if a kid on a sled decided to water skip that, and the ducks were huddled up like they do, one could actually hit that many birds and the birds would actually just sit there. It is sad and should not have happened. I really hope the idiot did not line them up and try to take them out.
 
helmet or not no way I would want to get hit by a duck at high speeds let alone 50+ possible it was a mistake?drunk sledder closin down the bar wasnt aware of the ducks

Being an avid hunter, especially for waterfowl, its incidents like these that make me sick! I dont care if it is in my home state or not, just absolutely rediculous!
 
I thought the same thing at first. Just some dumb *** greenie.

We should make a thread and get everyone on snowest to sign it. Get like 2000 names on it and send it to a newspaper there and have them print an article that says snowmobiles across the nation are outraged and would never do such a thing. Maybe have a list and pass it around to everyones e-mails. Then when you get a large list just send it to one person so they can collect all the names.

I admit, i use trees as traction but that is just ****ED UP!
 
why are you guys so quick to accept some of the blame for this?!:confused:

what if the guy killed those ducks with a golf club? do you think they would blame golfers. do you think people on golf forums would be worried about the "black eye" their sport received?!

do they blame all motorcycle riders when a bank robber uses one as his getaway vehicle?


this is retarded! we should be outraged at any jab directed at snowmobilers as a result of this barbaric, and criminal behavior.
 
ducks freeze to death if they fly from cold water in the winter?

Funny, been huntin them for years (yes in the winter) and never have seen them "bunch up" or freeze after leaving the water.
