Monte Cristo??????

I would like to go Sat. 5/9/09. Is this possible? Hows the snow? Is the gate open?

Went a couple weeks ago. Snow up top was great, but pretty thin and muddy in the parking lot. Gate closed then.

Last I heard the gate was still closed and it was two miles to get to the snow.

As of May 03 it is closed. Walked up to the first turn and no snow in sight. Drove in the mud over to Hardware Ranch and no snow along the way so we went to Tony Grove, still lots of snow up there and even had about 3-4" of new up top. Parked below the last shortcut to the lake.

Thats no good! Will have to head for Logan or the Uintas.

Please post if anyone knows when they open the gate on Monte.

Gate was still closed on 5-14-09. I was told that they are going open the gate the same day they push the road clear of snow on may 21st.
