Monte Cristo sunday 12/21/08

Went up to Monte today. It was acceptable weather, and we got about 10 inches yesterday, but man is it sketchy getting off of the trail.

Up past Curtis creek we darted off into a bowl, and the stumps were prevelant. There are little pockets of 3' or better, but it is baseless.

Ran into a couple of friends who didn't get off of the trail, and they said that the amount of damaged sleds comming off the hill was crazy.

The trails' nice to get your fix, but man be careful.

Going to head up to Monty 12/23/08 to do some road/trail ride.
It is snowing good here in Eden so hopefully it will be a little better up there but we plan to still stay on the trail.

more snow on layton's east bench

There was more snow in my yard than at the monty parking lot. Still no bottom. Be careful under the power lines. Lots of t posts still showing. We lost brand new holts suspension on one sled....sorry to the group we about ran over coming out. Its hard to steer with one ski. Few good patches. Will be a great base for storm tommorow.

Myself and others did not go, it was a snowing hard at my house and I had house stuff to do before the holidays. One guy went up on Monday and said wait for Tues storm to pass, snow is still not deep enough and needs a base.
It also backs up what Brunestone was saying.
