Montana State Land Use permit

I know I need to buy a Montana non resident snowmobile permit for $25 as I am from out of state but do I need a State land use permit too or is that just for residents?
I posted this in the Montana riding section too but not too sure how many people look in there so that is why it is posted here as well.

Not sure on the "land use permit" but I'm a non-resident and I've only bought "non-resident" permits for years, and have never been hassled by the mounties.

I don't if that answers your question, but as far as I know you should be fine with a non-resident sticker.

Only if you are riding on State Land. I believe there are some areas in MT (NW MT in particular) that have some small chunks of state land where people ride. Here is southwest MT, 99 percent of most people's riding is done of Forest Service land, which doesn't require a state land use permit.
