Need some info from you guys down there that ride around Shelby,MT. Was through there earlier this week for the first time and could not help but notice the Bear Paw Range just south of me. I know you are short of snow this year but if you get some decent accumulations there has to be some good riding there right? Its only about 5-6hrs from where I live which makes it half the drive compared to the rockies. Looks like the highest point is around 6,000'+.

ridin the park at the bear paws is good for family when we get enough snow, only 10 inches now, locals here go to skyland, king, and lincoln all pretty clos to the same miles from here

Don't worry about private land!! This will be all of our policy when Tester passes his bil to turn our local riding areas into wilderness. Just because some greeene in New York wants to stand and look at al of the beautiful red beetle killed trees that there for fathers have created in there generation. I hate to say ride it but what the heck else will we do. Ski-doo to the moon!!
