Has anybody had the lower crank case from an 08 - 09 800 machined out to except the newer 2010 and up monoblock cylinders? I am in the process of putting a spare engine together for my 08 td800. Just looking at the best options.

Carl's does this on all rebuilds now that require a new monoblock. I am thinking of doing it as I am in the rebuilding stage also.

What Augerin said, Talk with Carl's. 1000 miles on my 09 Cylinder and the cylinder skirt is cracked. Caught it before it took the whole motor out. The 2010 cylinders are a heavier skirt and they machine the lower case to accept the 2010 cylinder. To bad Polaris won't step up and help with the cost of this.

this is the way to go with any cfi4 rebuild...the 2010 case is a must do. And to go one step safer i'd use the fix kit as well
