Molly vs forged

Am having to have to doo a top end before start my turbo build on an 09 xp. It's been 50/50 on everyone I ask so I thought to start a thread and get as many opinions on Wiseco, SPI, MCB ....?

i had read some stories about spi, i got mcb's in my 1000 and in the 07 800r, put 1.4k km past winter on them of hard mountain riding, so far good, heard lots of good about mcb, wiseco are "forged" but im not sure personally, i guess if you go with mcb and have any issues they might be more than happy to help you out with a new set, wiseco being a BIG manufacturer for pistons might say if they break, tough luck,.....

but just taking a guess there, heard good about mcb for the snowmobiles,

We have ran the stock and spi in our turbos. The spi's seem to hold up ok but we also replace them about every season ( imo a turbo piston is on borrowed time after one or two seasons depending on miles). I would rather replace pistons a little early then fix cylinders. I have never tried the dual ring spi's, they might last a little longer then the single rings do. This year I'm going to try a dual ring to try to help with heat soak, so I'm either going to try SPI or RKT dual rings next. The RKT piston seems very well built, I'm not sure the rings will last in a turbo though? They held up great in our stock sleds. I haven't tried the wiesco's and won't because I had bad luck with their pro-lite's in my bike years ago.

I have have used spi t mollys in my turbo xp for the last two years. no problems. seized one at the end of the first year because the crank seal went out on the mag side. Ran 10lbs of boost all last year with no problems. I put a new set in at the begining of every year. Going to be putting in a new set soon before this season starts.

SPI

Thanks guys, SPI's have been what most used. I am curious if there is alot different from a SPI to a MCB other than manufacturer? Also where is the best place to get the SPI's?
